Finally, Fall has arrived in Kansas and it looks like it’s going to stick around for a while. The leaves have started to change, apples are being bought by the bushel (by yours truly) and pumpkins are adorning doorsteps.

Welcome Home, My Love. **not gluten free** I seriously considered not participating in this round for Barefoot Bloggers. I’m an Air Force wife, and today is Patriot Day. Seven years ago the world as we knew it changed. I felt I should write about Patriot Day and what it means to me instead. I’ve wrapped it [...] September 11th, 2008 | Tags: Barefoot Contessa, Patriotic | Category: Barefoot Contessa, Delta Whiskey in the Kitchen, Married to the Military, Military | 23 comments
Last night was supposed to be our last night with The Mother-In-Law and Father-In-Law. We had such a wonderful week with them, the decided to stay an extra day! I wish they didn’t have to go, but home beckons. I do believe that MSgt Gomer Pyle and A1C Radar convinced them to get a baby [...] August 28th, 2008 | Tags: Barefoot Contessa, Chicken | Category: Barefoot Contessa, Delta Whiskey in the Kitchen | 10 comments
**not gluten free** Yesterday when The Husband and I were doing a little grocery shopping at Target I asked him what kind of pizza he wanted. His reply was, “Oh, the usual.” Slightly miffed I said, “Why don’t we try something new? Like a buffalo chicken pizza?” The Husband looked at me with horror [...] August 21st, 2008 | Tags: Barefoot Contessa | Category: Barefoot Contessa, Delta Whiskey in the Kitchen | 7 comments

This is a bonus week for the Barefoot Bloggers. The recipe was chosen by Becke at Columbus Foodie. I must admit; I’ve been very busy this week and my mind has been preoccupied with other things. While constructing this recipe the other day, I wasn’t totally focused on the mission at hand… but [...] July 31st, 2008 | Tags: Barefoot Contessa, Fruit | Category: Barefoot Contessa, Delta Whiskey in the Kitchen | 6 comments
The Husband grew up in Long Island, I know I’ve touched briefly on the variety of things he was accustomed to eating as an adolescent but I’ve purposefully neglected telling you about bagels with lox and cream cheese. I don’t eat fishies. In fact, my distaste for anything fishie is so great that I [...] July 24th, 2008 | Tags: Barefoot Contessa | Category: Barefoot Contessa, Delta Whiskey in the Kitchen | 14 comments
If I told you I love cornbread, it would be an understatement. Like peanut butter, I have to refrain from going anywhere near cornbread. I will eat the whole pan. The Mom used to make cornbread in a pyrex pie plate (say that 3 times fast!) so that’s my preferred cornbread shape. For the Barefoot [...] July 10th, 2008 | Tags: Barefoot Contessa | Category: Barefoot Contessa, Delta Whiskey in the Kitchen | 7 comments
I have a mild obsession with peanut butter. I actually have to go months without eating it because I have a tendency to eat all of it.
I try to incorporate peanut butter into deserts because it seems less guilty than standing at the pantry door with a spoon and jar of peanut [...] July 9th, 2008 | Tags: Barefoot Contessa, Cookies, Peanut Butter | Category: Being a Wife, Delta Whiskey in the Kitchen | 2 comments
