Please, accept my sincere apologies for my unintended absence the past two (!?!) weeks. I wish I had a good story to tell you, something wild and crazy that kept me away. Alas, I have a whole pocket-full of nothings that have kept me from visiting with you (and all of my friends).  The past few days I’ve spent a great deal of time reflecting on our lives together. I started with the first interaction I had with you, followed the memory trail through our whirlwind romance to our wedding and then slowly reflected on the past 6 1/2 years of marriage. Perhaps the reason I spent so much [...] I’m not sure what is more disturbing… the fact that The Husband had the dry ice on hand to do this? The fact that Radar is interested? The fact that we found this absolutely hilarious for a good 30 minutes? Or the mad skilz to read her mind and translate it to a picture? I’m married to such a [...] Monday evening found The Husband and I discussing his scholarship and forms that need to be signed by the local ROTC detachment… that aren’t being signed. It seems we have a bill from the university that we were unaware of until the Orderly Room called to inform us. The Husband does not qualify for in-state [...] **not gluten free** I don’t know what it is about this dinner that excites The Husband so much. It’s the simplest thing in the world to make. Since it’s also an Irish dish, I thought I’d include it as my final St. Patty’s Day blowout here. Honestly, I just love the man and wanted to make [...] The Husband and I don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day too often. I’m not sure why, but holidays or special days to celebrate each other always end up in disaster. Expectations are too high, schedules don’t match up, or my favorite… a deployment has hindered our ability to even talk to each other on such days. On those [...] The purpose of The Husband taking this commissioning scholarship was to get him one step closer to being a fighter pilot. I asked the man 7 years ago what his life dream was… “I want to be a fighter pilot and fly A-10s.” “I will help you reach that dream.” I replied… Today, The Husband and I are celebrating six years of wedded bliss. Of course, with any marriage or relationship there were some funny moments, sad moments and downright crazy moments. Better late than never, right? I actually made this soup the Tuesday before Thanksgiving thinking that my life would somehow, magically open up a moment in time that I could write about it. Not so much.
