We were ready and set to tear up the cities and take all they had to offer. We spent the first couple days of the trip [...] I remember the drive to The Brother’s college town for the last time. A short 2 hours from my parents home, the drive was unusually long that day. Although there was a slight feeling of excitement in the air, the atmosphere was almost unbearable. My brother sat next to me in the back seat wearing [...] To all of the lovely ladies and gents out there that serve our country by supporting your loved one: Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day! You are so amazing in every way!
I know many of these items can be translated to a civilian lifestyle as well, but without the military I don’t know that I would ever have learned these things… Monday evening found The Husband and I discussing his scholarship and forms that need to be signed by the local ROTC detachment… that aren’t being signed. It seems we have a bill from the university that we were unaware of until the Orderly Room called to inform us. The Husband does not qualify for in-state [...] **not gluten free** I’m working on a proposal to send to a magazine offering my services as a freelance writer. My mom is having her gallbladder removed today. The Husband made honors at school this semester by completely neglecting his home life to be a study master. My Gomer Pyle is still MIA and my heart [...] My life has been turned upside down with a thousand things going on these days. Fortunately, my military man is home with me this year. I used to love the song, “I’ll Be Home for Christmas” until I spent my first Christmas away from my love. Today, the song brings me to tears and [...] A lesson needs to be given today to the men and women who are going to stand next to their loved one as they serve this great country. There may just be a little lesson in all of this for non-military spouses as well. This is very important, so pay attention!
To My Veteran, My Hero, My Love… You often tell me that true heros are silent and unwilling to accept praise for a job well done. It’s all part of the job, you say. It’s a part of you, I say. |
