Today I am thankful for: A loving God. **not gluten free** This year The Husband and I are preparing Thanksgiving dinner at the house then packing it up to take to grandmama’s house where the rest of the family will join us. Considering I’ve hosted almost every big dinner since we moved here, it’s a welcome reprieve from the usual scrubbing the house and mad dash [...] **not gluten free** I don’t want to be so boring as to talk about the weather, but I can I just make a general statement and bring you in on a secret? Kansas City weather this year is schizo. I find myself in shorts one day then a winter coat the next. **not gluten free** About six months ago I was volunteered for a ministry at our old church. I’d be helping with the New Attenders Dinner each quarter. Judging by the amount of people involved in our emails, I showed up expecting a huge team of people to be working with that first night. What I found [...] As if I didn’t bake enough over the weekend, I ended up making creme brulee on Monday night so my sweetie could have something special for Veteran’s Day. I began making creme brulee a few years ago at Valentine’s Day when The Husband expressed a slight interest in it. There’s just something sexy about creme brulee. [...] This past Sunday I woke early, made some coffee and opened up the calendar to see what was on the schedule. What I found was almost too much to bear. Usually I can tame the craving with an incredible turkey & sage roll served with a cranberry dipping sauce. I’m not sharing the recipe for the easy Thanksgiving explosion that is so quick to prepare [...] I wish to express my condolences to the family and friends of those who were murdered at Ft. Hood today. I cannot express my feelings at this time. This is a dark day for our men and women of the armed services. As we approach Veteran’s Day, please keep our men and women in your prayers.
